Fabulous matinee today. Everyone there except Stephen. Stuart on for him, but Mark sang One more Angel. Lee and Dean both on top form. Audience very slow to react, but most were elderly or very young. Some empty seats in Stalls Row A and B. (I was in A11).

Nice seat Sal. I'm sorry I missed you, arrived at the Adelphi just before 7.00.

A very empty theatre tonight, Was in row B and 4 empty seats in front of me and Ro in row A, but what the theatre lacked in people it made up in sound, a very vocal audience. Think Russell had friends in because when he is giving the scarf to Dean someone shouted out a remark and called Russell by name.

So many little things happened tonight, Lee nearly fell over just before Dean gets the scarf from Russell and Lee goes to examine the 'fat' tummy of the cow. Dean changed the tune a bit to King of my Heart and it worked really well, Dean winked at me during the megamix (yipee, love it when the cast acknowledge you), Craig asked Russell for butter for his corn.

During Canaan days the brothers have changed their line up and Michael is now at the back whereas he has always been at the front, that's the first time I've seen that so not sure if it was just tonight or a permanent change.

Charlene is off and Tamlyn is playing Mrs P and what a mighty fine handfull she got of the rear of the year tonight, lucky lady.

A very happy Lee in the scrum, he even posed with people for photos, one person twice because the photo didn't come out first time.

He had a really long day at The Adelphi. He was there before noon, had the first Choir party (with no doubt many photos) + 2 shows and 2 scrums. He must like the place.

9th September Group Trip Evening Show
Well last night was fabulous!! It is always good to share the show with other Lovelees & there were quite a few of us Lol

We certainlee made sure they knew we where there Laughing

starting from Lee’s descent at the start of ADWD.

Stephen Tate was back as Jacob & owns that role clapping

During Josephs coat & One more Angel the Brothers where putting so much into it & Michael was playing up to our side of the stalls Very Happy

There were loads of laughs for Joe & the snake in the pit & the Brothers messing around with the poor goats legs Lol

Potipher scene – OMG Lee had on a shorter loincloth Thud

Not the 7 pleat one from last year but noticablee shorter than the 9 pleat one he’s been wearing all this year. I counted them (a difficult job Lol

) and there were 8 pleasts. Robyn who I was sat next to was able to verify that for me Very Happy

A very energetic Mrs Potipher/Bed scene & then CED!! So much sweat Thud

and the emotion in the theatre could have been cut with a knife!!
Again back to high energy for Go Go Go!!

2nd half of the show & Jenna does her usual belt out of the Pharoahs Story & then we get Dean!!
What a reception Laughing

we certainlee made a lot of noise for him & he played to it Laughing

During KomH when he does the “I’ve always loved you people” & then points someone out in the 1st or 2nd row & says “especially you ma’am” well he pointed out towards out group in D & E & said “especially you!!!” Lol

Russell did Canaan Days Hooray

I love him doing it & its only the 2nd time I’ve seen him do it. It was even better than last time!! Very Happy

He even put an extra “shhhhhh” after telling the Brothers to shush already when they are doing the humming Hysterical

There were a few of us doubled up at that!!!

Oh my!! Masterful Joseph Heart Beat

cue breathlessness & inability to look anywhere else Thud

I totalee believe in his anger!!!
Nat did Benjamin Calypso as Neal had apparentlee had a fall but I’m not sure when that was but was after the Pharoah Scene during which Adam was up the Pharoah’s steps dancing with a hand maiden Shocked

Tom was excellent as usual as the petrified Benjamin cowering before the great Price of Egypt Heart Beat

Then the reunion & Stephen has built on the emotion of this scene. It’s the first time I’ve seen him caress Joe’s face & pat him on the shoulder before putting his hand on top of the tattered coat which Joe holds & strokes Cry

I had to give a SO at the end of that it was one of the most touching I’ve seen it & Lee’s voice rising at the end to take in the whole theatre, amazing Heart Beat

Obviously sat back down for the CED reprise but back up onto our feet at the end & we stayed there Very Happy

The whole Mega Mix on our feet & cos there were so many of us everyone behind had no choice but to get up too Lol

We had the whole of the right hand side of the Stalls up!! Jules over on the far left hand side was the sole Mega Mixer Hug

until Nat came out & by then I’m pretty sure 99% of the Stalls were up Mexican wave

Then Lee comes running onto the stage & he’s so bouncy & smilee & enjoying the moment to much!!! Very Happy

and such a roar went up!!!

Then it’s all over much too quicklee again & the cast are taking their final curtain bows. Nat paying particular attention to our group with lots of double handed waves & thumbs up Very Happy

Unexpectedly saw the show last night and have to say WOW!!!!
CED was i honestly think the most powerful i have seen him do it! I know that is a big claim but it really did make me sit up and go wow!

The whole show seemed very lively and bouncy - i know it always is, but you know what i mean! The cast all seemed to be a little bit extra bouncy!

Erm cant think of anything reviewy to write! Was in A33 DC, not the best view, as i missed out on Russell's chair dancing Sad

but it was a view i hadnt seen before and as always i noticed some bits i hadn't noticed before!

I particularly enjoyed Lee's dancing in Go Go Joe made me smile!
Oh one bit i noticed was in the cell before ced as Lee was waiting for Russell and Adam to do their rock paper scissors to decide who would tell there story first, i was watching Lee and i kept noticing his left pec kept twitching!! Thud

I had most of the parents of the choir sat around me and i can now just about tell you which kid belongs to which couple!! Rolling Eyes

Was that choirs last night and there were some very very sad little faces at the end when they all left! Sad

Anyway had a fabulous day and a big THANK YOU to a very special lovelee who made it possible for me to see the show

Rachel has pretty much said everything there is to say about the show on Saturday evening, it was SPECIAL, could have been something to do with the LARGE amounts of alcohol consumed between the matinee and evening show, or something to do with a certain person chatting to us in between shows, or James turning up totally unexpectedly (girls, I will upload your photos and send them to you) or the very large amounts of alcohol consumed between shows, ooopppps, have I said that before, Lol

, or it may just be that Saturday night actually was, IMO, the best show that I have seen. CED was more powerful and more emotional than I have ever heard (and I've heard a few, Lol

).

The whole cast were really buzzing, it's almost as if the cast knew about a conversation with Michael that was had between shows where he asked if we had enjoyed the show in the afternoon, everyone said yes and I replied, No I didn't think it was a great show (very tongue in cheek, I hope he knew I was joking, Lol

) and told him he needs to try harder in the evening and boy did he and the rest of the cast try harder, magnificent, actually, even magnificent doesn't do justice to the evening performance and then to top it all ALW 60th party on Sunday, perfect weather, perfect company, perfect Lee - just PERFECT.

To all my companions yesterday, how wrong was I to tell everyone that I wanted to be at the back with a picnic and watch it from the big screens, being 2nd row in to the stage was one of the best experiences I have had, that you Karen, Tricia and Phil for running so that old codgers like me and Hez were able to walk the long long way from the entrance to the actual stage.

I'm attempting to upload video, but with little success, too large for photobucket and savefile is soooooooooooooo slow.

The chicken disappeared! From where me and Robyn were sat we could see Michael doing an impression of a chicken advancing on Adam saying "Where's my chicken" or something! Tom didn't know where the chicken had gone and he no idea that Michael had done that, I managed to not do a complete impression and look like an idiot though, even to Robyn! Lol
